The Financial World is Loud. We’re the Fixed Point.
For most families, money doesn’t feel like a math problem. It feels like a storm. Opinions on social media. Products advertised on television. A brother-in-law with a hot tip and an advisor with a different answer. Everyone sounds certain, and none of them agree.
The challenge isn’t finding financial information. It’s knowing who to trust, what applies to your family, and what to do next. What’s missing is clarity and structure.
A beacon doesn’t shout over a storm. It stays put and gives you something to steer by.
That’s why we created Beacon Freedom Advisory: to be a beacon of light in a world full of chaos, bring the pieces of your financial life together, and help you make informed decisions about what comes next.

What We Believe About Financial Guidance
Clarity Changes What’s Possible
When you know your numbers and have a plan you actually understand, choices get easier. You stop guessing.
Sometimes clarity uncovers a risk that needs attention. But sometimes, it uncovers new opportunities. You may learn that you have more room than you thought. A bigger home. More time with your family. The trip you keep postponing.
If that were true for you, how soon would you want to know?
We Teach Before We Recommend
One avoidable mistake can undo years of disciplined saving. That’s why we explain your options, the tradeoffs, and the reasoning behind our recommendations before asking you to act.
When the market gets loud again, you’ll have more than a set of instructions. You’ll have a strategy you understand and believe in.
One Financial Life. One Coordinated Strategy.
Cash flow, investing, taxes, protection, and legacy aren’t five separate problems. They’re one financial life.
Like a strong team, each part has its own role, but everything works better when it follows the same plan. Handled separately, opportunities get missed and one decision can quietly work against another. Looked at together, more becomes possible.
Clarity is the first freedom. It gives you the ability to make informed decisions about what you want, when you want it, and who you want to share it with.
Money is the tool. Freedom is the goal.
Two Paths. One Commitment.
Justin Roberto brings the technical side of planning, a professional golfer’s firsthand understanding of what coaching can do, and, as a father of two daughters, a personal drive to take care of families the way he takes care of his own.
Nick Winters brings the teaching and presenting side, a passion for the science of investing, and the perspective he gained from a small corner of the advisory community that studies what it teaches.

I grew up in Sparta, a small town in northern New Jersey, and my family moved to Williamsburg in 2001. My mother’s resilience through that transition is where my brother and I got whatever steadiness we have.
I was always an athlete. I competed throughout high school and college, earning four state championships, one in baseball and three in golf. I played collegiately at Methodist University, where I earned a degree in Business and PGA Golf Management.
After that, I chased the PGA Tour. I traveled 35 to 45 weeks a year until a series of injuries changed the plan: impingements, a torn labrum, hip damage, a cracked pelvis, and fractures. There was a stretch when I couldn’t walk. The team at UVA helped get me back on my feet.
I mention it because I know what it’s like to build a life around a plan and have the plan change without asking permission. That isn’t just a golf lesson. That’s most people’s financial lives.
I still hold my PGA membership and volunteer at events, including with the William & Mary women’s golf team. What competition taught me is exactly what I bring to this work: long-term results don’t come from reacting or predicting. They come from discipline, consistency, and trusting a sound process when it feels uncomfortable.
I began my financial career with a large national firm before starting my own practice. I wanted to give families the attention and depth of planning that a production-driven model doesn’t always leave room for.
I live in Williamsburg with my wife, Hannah, our two daughters, and our dog, Winston.

The list is still growing. This industry changes. I’d rather stay ahead of it than explain later why I didn’t.
I’ve worked in financial services since graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in financial planning. When I entered the industry, I didn’t fully understand the world I was walking into. It was full of different opinions, half-truths, and a lot to navigate.
I was very fortunate to grow up around a small corner of the advisor community that approached the work differently. These were advisors who studied what they taught. They didn’t simply sell products. They educated people and helped them make informed decisions based on evidence and real data.
That connection came through my dad. He isn’t in the financial industry. He attended trainings created for financial advisors purely out of curiosity about his own planning, and the people he met there eventually became my mentors.
Once I found that world, I learned everything I could. Now I feel an obligation to share it. I believe Americans at every income level can live better lives with more financial education and a clearer understanding of the decisions in front of them.
I continue to learn and study, with a current focus on behavioral finance. Outside of work, I enjoy golf, competitive handgun shooting, country music, and reading. My faith in Jesus Christ is also a big part of my life. You’ll find me at Sunday service every week.

How We Work Together
Every Beacon family has one advisor leading the relationship and both of us on the case. We talk through every client together, so your strategy benefits from more than one perspective.
Who leads is usually simple. It’s often whoever you already know. If you met Justin at an event or through a friend, Justin will likely lead. If you met Nick, Nick will likely lead. The complexity of your situation can also shape that decision.
We’re both investment strategy people, and that’s deliberate. From there, Nick leans toward cash flow while Justin leans toward the technical planning work. Those strengths overlap, but they give us different ways of looking at the same financial life.
Beyond Beacon, we coordinate with the attorney and tax professionals you already have. We’d rather work alongside someone you trust than replace them. If you don’t have a tax strategist you love, we can connect you with ours, Janet Bradsher and Haley Fleury.
Once your strategy is in place, our work with you continues through what we call calibration. Through quarterly meetings and a kickoff meeting at the start of each year, we revisit your strategy, talk through what has changed, and make adjustments as your life and priorities evolve.
Between meetings, you’ll also hear from us through The Beacon Brief newsletter and Freedom Fridays, our virtual investor education events hosted on Zoom.
